Eckhard Kowalski was born in 1951 in Radolfzell am Bodensee (Lake Constance), Germany.

At the end of the 60s, he finished his Open University course in painting at the "Famous Artists School" in Amsterdam. Later, he followed that up with diverse art studies, i.e., studies about "human positions".

His main motifs are landscapes, flowers, humans and animals.

Besides acrylic and oil paint, Kowalski mainly works with water colours. Furthermore, he engages in stage design and murals.

Especially in unsettled times in our world history, it is of concern to him to put peace and harmony in his paintings.

For 23 years, he organised the international exhibitions in the Count's/comital Schlosstorkel in Bodman (Lake Constance), where he displayed his works with other well-known artists.

Since the beginning of the 80s, Kowalski has had numerous national and international expositions, both individual and group. In France, where he's been showcasing his works since 1993, he was honoured with several art awards.

He is not only a honourary member in the Kunst- und Kulturverein Höri e.V. (art and culture society), the committee as well. (www.kukhoeri.de)

“Eckhard Kowalski's prizewinning paintings are signs of an unmistakable affinity for nature, people and environments. In his works, Kowalski, a leading artist of the Lake Constance region, offers a variety of authentic, incisive, and distinctive interpretations of people and their surroundings without sacrificing spontaneity and contemplative peace.

Viewers captivated by the clarity and harmony of the paintings, often form a strong bond with one of Kowalski's subjects and express a wish to be present in the painted scenery.”
